I started oil painting when I was thirteen years old and instantly became hooked. I majored in Art and Psychology in college, went on to graduate school to become a teacher and continued to paint along side my career, marriage and the birth of my first child. By the time my second child was born, I knew I could not dedicate the time to painting the way I needed to feel satisfied with what I was creating artistically, so I put my palette aside to raise my family and teach. Painting was absent from my life for the next twenty years, but not absent from my heart. I knew that one day I would return and so I have.

I find painting to be an expression of my love for color, pattern and beauty. When I put watercolors on a piece of paper with the idea that I will make the picture look and feel a certain way, I am challenged, empowered and involved. Painting brings me closer to all that is nature and gives me a wonderful serenity and peace in my life.
